Ponticello: un borgo piccolo, lungo la Via Francigena, tutto pietra, archi e gallerie; i fiori ed il verde delle foglie sono improvvise macchie di colore; quando il sole fa capolino, qui sembra più abbagliante che altrove. C'è un continuo gioco di luci ed ombre che rende gli scorci più suggestivi; l'atmosfera è divisa tra una realtà rurale, richiamata dai carri e attrezzi lasciati in bella vista, e l'eleganza di antichi portali in arenaria con piedritti rettangolari e capitelli ionici. Questo contesto ha fatto da cornice ad una delle più belle e affascinanti rivisitazioni medioevali con la Festa di paese 'I Mestieri nel Borgo'.
