Turi is an old town of the province of Bari that rises among the hills and typical plateau of the hinterland of Bari, famous for “Ferrovia” cherry and the Primitivo wine. The historic centre of Turi keep intact calcareous buildings. On Summer there is the celebration of Saint Oronzo with the horse ride with Medieval costumes and the characteristic float.
The town is situated near Polignano a Mare, birthplace of Domenico Modugno, Monopoli and Alberobello, where many important people of economy, industry and show business had their marriage and holidays. We can mention the Sutton marriage in Monopoli, the manager of the Peugeout in Polignano a Mare in 2015; Madonna, the French president Macron, Tom Hanks, Justin Timberlake and Pippa Middleton spent their holiday in seaside resorts near Turi.
