Ariunda House is located in Entracque (905 meters above sea level) from its terrace offers a lovely view of the mountains that surrounds like a ring the old village, which has about 900 inhabitants. The accommodation is on the third floor and consists of a little hall, a bedroom, living room which can accommodate two people in a sofa bed, a kitchenette, a bathroom and a beautiful equipped terrace of 15 square meters. All in a three-storey building.
The area is very quiet and the complex has a large communal garden. It’s just a few minutes walk from the historic center of the village. Web sites www.entracque.org www.ghironda.com and can provide valuable information about many area activities: in summer hiking, climbing, mountain climbing, mountain biking, sunbathing in the community center equipped with swimming pool . In addition, at the 'Real Park', located two km before Entracque, you can practice fishing, mini golf, there is a restaurant and other entertainment facilities for children. Possibility to visit the wildlife center “man and wolf” (www.parcoalpimarittime.it) or underground hydroelectric power plant (www.progettodighe.it). In Winter there are some ski lifts for downhill skiing and above all 30 km of trails for cross-country skiing (www.scifondoentracque.it) and trips with snowshoes.
A curiosity: the pretty village of Entracque was the location for some scenes of the film 'Inkheart' in 2006 (for information visit www.targatocn.it).
The village of Entracque is located in a pleasant place at the end of the Gesso Valley at 905 meters above sea level. It’s the last village, after that the paved road ends. It stands on a plain below the dam Chiotas, an artificial lake built in the 60's, and on some hills on either sides of the plateau. All around it is surrounded by beautiful mountains that reach up to 3,000 meters above sea level, the highest of which, the Argentera, rises up to 3297. Many of those paeks are accessible with dozens of hiking trails. It 'a very relaxing place where you can rest and relax or practice many outdoor activities. It is particularly suitable for families. We found out this village more than 40 years ago and we fell in love with it, electing it as our “buen retiro” on the edge of the Natural Park of the Maritime Alps, whose centre is Entracque. From the village you can continue on foot to undertake the easy mountain paths crossing the French border and immersing yourself in the beautiful French Mercantour National Park, which contains within it the Valley of Wonders. It’s possible to access various routes connecting to the many Italian and French huts, to spend a few days in the nature together with ibex, chamois and marmots, which are present in large quantities. Winter activities are numerous and the practice of skiing is possible but recommended more than anything else in the spring.
From the beautiful terrace of 15 square meters you can enjoy a wonderful view of the mountain 'Ariunda' and throughout the Alps. Quiet apartment with a large garden. What will strike you the most is definitely the view that you can enjoy from the terrace with a landscape that changes as a picture in 4 seasons. There are thousands of villages and beautiful places in Italy, we assure you that these mountains are one of those places that are worth visiting.
