It is  literally a crossroad in between touristic areas such as Cinque Terre/Lerici/PortoVenere and the Carrara Marble Caves/Lunigiana/Garfagnana; it is also very close to main towns (Pisa 65 km, Florence 135 km, Turin 270 km, Milan 220 km and Rome 400 km) and well connected to airports (Pisa 70 km, Genoa 115 km, Milano Linate 220 km, Milano Malpensa 270 km) and seaports (La Spezia 20 km, Genoa 100 km, Livorno 80 km, Piombino 160 km).
