Apartment of 1432 situated in the historical centre of Corchiano, in a region called Tuscia in Lazio. It overlooks the “Tagliata etrusca” (ancient Etruscan road) and the Forre Park, WWF Oasis.
My property is on the third and upper floor (less than 30 steps from the ground floor thanks to the layout of the 3 apartments that compose the building) of a detached building next to the church of 1423, of which it probably was a part of.
The apartment has 73 sqm with independent heating; it has two lounge with frescoed barrel vaults, a fireplace with an architrave in peperino (volcanic rock) and a Renaissance coat of arms.
It has a broom closet and a small balcony that overlooks the Etruscan road. The other windows have the view on the small streets of the historical centre that are calm and shady.
Corchiano is at the forefront of the ecological choices: 80% of recycling, low energy public lightning, it is a member of the network of the Comuni Virtuosi (virtuous municipalities) and in 2010 it won the prize for Italy's “Most eco-friendly town”.
Every summer it hosts the prestigious event “Fescennino d'Oro”, a prize that goes to the artist that worked hard to protect and spread the tradition of the folk theatre promoted by the great musician Nicola Piovani, native of Corchiano.
In winter its tuff caves host the wonderful live Nativity scene, traditional appointment for the Christmas of Viterbo.
It is an ideal starting point to visit the beautiful countryside of Viterbo, rich in Etruscan history, archaeological sites and wonderful natural oasis.
